We woke up to a brisk 45′ temps in Otis Maine today. After making coffee I had to go through some items I had stored at my Dad’s. The purge continues! That took up a large part of the morning. Reflecting on things I’ve had since being in school was nice. We did walk away with a few flashlights as you can never have enough of those. The rest was separated into a donation pile, and landfill pile.
As the afternoon warmed up my sister Katherine and I went into Ellsworth Maine for sister time. We picked up some steak meat to make steak kabobs on an open fire for dinner. Steve and my dad went to meet some people down the road who fly racing drones. They took Missy with them and Hugo, Ki and Biggs stayed home. They have taken to the travels well so far. No real issues. My dad’s property is 10 acres and way off the road. Allowing us to let them run free and enjoy the space. We all came back together mid afternoon and around 7pm we cooked our kabobs on an open flame. Delicious! The rest of our night was spent talking of our journey to be and how excited everyone was.
We also did an early Christmas because we won’t be here. We won’t see them again for almost a full year.
It’s bitter-sweet. Saying goodbye for a year to family isn’t easy. But the adventures ahead will be worth it. Day two, in the books. Tomorrow we head to VT and see my grandparents.
