Waking up to a beautiful sunny day we let the dogs out and enjoyed our coffee. We finally make breakfast for the first time in the camper since traveling! It feels like forever. Taking advantage of my grandparents washing machine, I started the first of four loads. With animals in close proximity everything gets furry very quickly. Steve spent some time with my Papa and he wanted to see the drone in the air. Steve, never one to say no to flying the drone, did so. The neighbors came over as well as some more family to watch it. It’s awesome the aww it creates in the older generation. They loved it and talked about ways to use it and spy on one another.
After the flying and laundry we sat down to another early Christmas! It was a great way to spend an early morning with my grandparents. After that Steve and I decided it was now or never. We have been up this way three other times and never ventured into Canada! We grab our passports and make the 4 mile drive from my grandparents place and head right for the border crossing.
We spent an hour at the border
Steve was a typical kid and his shenanigans kept us there for an hour or more. They searched the truck and eventually let us through. It was a very odd experience. They weren’t rude, polite actually. But at the same time made us feel like criminals in a way. Suppose you don’t understand the security and seriousness of crossing from one country into another until you do. Steve asked them for a suggestion on where to eat. They said a pizzeria was right around the corner. To the pizzeria!
We both had a burger, and poutine. Fries, cheese and gravy. Very delicious but very heavy! We stuffed ourselves and headed back home. Spending less time in the country then we did at the border. Heading home we continued the laundry and ate dinner just a few short hours later. As you know, there isn’t a grandmother on the planet that won’t let you get away with not eating when she says eat! Plump and stuffed we settle in for a night of election coverage. Steve wonders if we’ll see everyone run to the border seeing how close we are depending on the results!
Day four in the books. Tomorrow we find out if traffic will suck with everyone wanting to leave if Trump is elected!
